Nucleus — DeFi Chia wallet that does not require synchronization

  • 21 11 月, 2023

I present to your attention the first of its kind wallet for Chia that does not require synchronization with the network.

Most recently I wrote about Chia hackathon and large prize funds for the development of the Chia Network eco system. The hackathon has just begun, and you and I can already observe the fruits of its work. A Defi wallet has been developed that works without requiring wallet synchronization.

Emergent Coin – the first winner of the Chia hackathon receives a prize fund from the “Chia Cultivate Grant”.

Emergent Coin has developed a DeFi Core application that gives access to the Chia wallet by means of a mnemonic phrase. Now you don’t have to wait for a long network synchronization to perform the translation. It is enough to go to the site to enter a mnemonic phrase and get access to your assets. You can be calm about the recovery phrases, they are not stored on the developer’s servers since the whole system works in a decentralized manner.

The wallet works according to the SPV system — Simplified Payment Verification (Simplified Payment Verification), this is the use of a Chia wallet without running a full network node.
Using SPV technology similar to Metamask and Jaxx, Nucleus keeps syncing with the node, so your wallets don’t need it. This means that as soon as you create or import a wallet into Nucleus, you immediately synchronize it with the blockchain and can immediately send transactions, while maintaining control over your recovery phrases.

Nucleus is based on our own open source libraries, which will be published to the community soon. The community will make sure that the storage of Chia tokens on the Nucleus is safe. In addition to this, Nucleus hired the AppSec team to conduct an end-to-end security check in order to find and remove vulnerabilities. Nucleus strives to be a fast and easy wallet worthy of your trust.
